And it has been a hot minute since we did a in the car video, just a rant between me, you and the windshield.
00:00:08 Kevin
You're stuck in the middle with me.
00:00:10 Kevin
So just, you know, it's one of those, it's one of those things I'm watching.
00:00:17 Kevin
I'm sure a lot of you have seen them out there, those TikTok reels with all these people that are getting their EBT cut next month.
00:00:24 Kevin
So in addition to No Shave November, I'm sure a lot
00:00:27 Kevin
A lot of you understand that we're also going to have a no EBT November.
00:00:31 Kevin
So, and I was listening to a lot of these statistics about like, and I've been saying this for years.
00:00:36 Kevin
If you watch the channel, how many people would actually start to death if you remove social programs like food stamps?
00:00:42 Kevin
Maybe one person, maybe.
00:00:45 Kevin
I was listening to a podcast today and he was like, hey, he's like, no one's ever produced that one person.
00:00:52 Kevin
Because apparently he's been saying, who is that one person that like,
00:00:57 Kevin
And if you follow the channel, know that I don't like listen, I, first time I don't listen, but I don't, think we need these social programs.
00:01:09 Kevin
And I think that the government needs to stay out of a lot of this stuff.
00:01:13 Kevin
Like if you want to feed the homeless, you should get together with your religious leaders, churches, your, you know, the people that bring the community together.
00:01:22 Kevin
not, which is not the government.
00:01:23 Kevin
The government is here to, provide roads, provide police to protect and serve, and,
00:01:37 Kevin
to help coordinate fire safety and stuff.
00:01:40 Kevin
Because I grew up in, and I've talked about this in the past and not to really drone on about it, but I grew up in Connecticut where we have volunteer fire department and certain stipends from taxpayer dollars go to provide them with equipment, but all the guys are volunteers and they have great knockdown rate and like they're phenomenal people and they all work nine to five jobs.
00:01:57 Kevin
And you come someplace like Olean where the guys are way more trained and they've got their EMS licenses, which actually I can't say that's not true of a lot of the guys that are the volunteers.
00:02:08 Kevin
Like they go to weekend classes and stuff like that.
00:02:11 Kevin
and the classes are paid for by,
00:02:14 Kevin
donations and they sell Christmas trees and all these other things.
00:02:17 Kevin
Anyways, that's the firefighters are not the point.
00:02:20 Kevin
My government, my like my, the minimalist government, which is why we designed the United States of America was supposed to have very, you know, small, big government, small, small, small all the way down.
00:02:29 Kevin
And so there should be very few things that it provides, right?
00:02:31 Kevin
Food stamps is not one of them.
00:02:35 Kevin
Food stamps isn't one of them.
00:02:37 Kevin
And, you know, health insurance wasn't any part of it.
00:02:41 Kevin
was literally like,
00:02:45 Kevin
enforcement of the laws and protection of the civilians, which is like the army and the police.
00:02:49 Kevin
And it's fire prevention.
00:02:53 Kevin
And it is also, and it's also, and it's also like, you know, roads for commerce.
00:03:02 Kevin
Other than that, like we really don't need anything else.
00:03:05 Kevin
We don't need the food stamps.
00:03:06 Kevin
We don't need this.
00:03:07 Kevin
We don't need that.
00:03:07 Kevin
And then so what's going on is
00:03:14 Kevin
These people, they're just, they're, everyone's, they're all these rants on Facebook and TikTok and X about, people screaming that they need to have their food stamps, so they're going to start, they're going to start,
00:03:32 Kevin
They're robbing grocery stores and stuff like that.
00:03:34 Kevin
I so no food stamp November.
00:03:36 Kevin
And it actually got me thinking while I was in the shower this morning after I heard this podcast.
00:03:40 Kevin
I was like, you know what?
00:03:41 Kevin
if we started an actual like food bank, like a non-addicted food bank, right?
00:03:48 Kevin
So you're you have you have a food bank, right?
00:03:52 Kevin
And you have to provide that like you're either actively looking for a job or you have a job.
00:03:59 Kevin
and that you're getting things that you need, right?
00:04:01 Kevin
Because if you're that person...
00:04:02 Kevin
person, but you also cannot be on food stamps to come to this food bank.
00:04:05 Kevin
Because if you're coming to the food bank, then you don't need our food because you already have food stamps.
00:04:09 Kevin
And people that most likely have food stamps also get more food than the average Joe usually budgets for food.
00:04:15 Kevin
So, and they're also like making poor decisions, right?
00:04:19 Kevin
Like, and there's no way to incentivize poor decision making, like giving somebody money.
00:04:23 Kevin
Oh, wait a minute.
00:04:24 Kevin
No, that is a terrible idea.
00:04:26 Kevin
So let's not like, let's not reinforce their decision making by giving them the means to make more bad decisions.
00:04:32 Kevin
we can just go, what's like, no, you need to have a strict, like we should, we're not going to be handing out like candies and chocolates and stuff like that.
00:04:41 Kevin
Maybe you get a treat around Christmas at our food pantry.
00:04:43 Kevin
But I think that you have to prove that you're, you also have to, like, listen, so this is completely voluntary.
00:04:47 Kevin
You want to come to our food pantry, you got to play by our rules.
00:04:50 Kevin
So my thought is you take a food pantry and you say, hey, no, listen, you also can't be an addict of any kind of drugs.
00:04:57 Kevin
Like, we'll give you a pass if, you have, if you, smoke, if you smoke cigarettes or something, what I mean?
00:05:05 Kevin
Something that's like, all right, but you, have to come in and **** test.
00:05:10 Kevin
I think that, I think you should have to come in and **** test.
00:05:14 Kevin
I think you, have to, we, should have a database where we can find out if you're on government assistance.
00:05:20 Kevin
If you're on government assistance, you qualify for food stamps.
00:05:24 Kevin
And you're taking other government assistance, but you're not taking, well, I guess if you're not, that's, we're still hashing it out, right?
00:05:30 Kevin
I haven't done one of these in a while.
00:05:39 Kevin
So apparently, oh, I have a, I have a chat going.
00:05:42 Kevin
So anyways, yeah, no, I think that we should **** test and I think that we should, so that you're not on drugs.
00:05:52 Kevin
actively, and then you should be looking for a job so that we can get you out of this situation.
00:05:59 Kevin
And then we need to get you, make sure that you're not on food stamps.
00:06:06 Kevin
And then you can be that one person, that one person that might starve to death if we get rid of food stamps.
00:06:12 Kevin
And we're also,
00:06:15 Kevin
This is a big proportion because if you ever look at a lot of these food pantries, if they're not government run, they're churches that are taking subsidy from the government to provide the food.
00:06:24 Kevin
Like, no, we're looking for private donors.
00:06:27 Kevin
And at first, you could be an integral, like entry level donor to Kevin's food pantry because we wouldn't have anybody show up.
00:06:38 Kevin
That's it.
00:06:41 Kevin
wouldn't take much to be an initial donor because
00:06:47 Kevin
you wouldn't have anybody show up because nobody would want to take a **** test because they know they'd fail.
00:06:53 Kevin
And most people that are at the food pantries and getting those free meals also get food stamps, which is already more than the average family is already budgeting for food.
00:07:00 Kevin
So why do they even need to be there?
00:07:02 Kevin
Because it's free.
00:07:04 Kevin
And that's really what it comes down to.
00:07:05 Kevin
So I think we need to work with other churches on adding such requirements and we need to start our own food bank.
00:07:12 Kevin
And then I think, and I think that what's happening in November is phenomenal.
00:07:16 Kevin
I think it's going to be a great push in the right direction.
00:07:18 Kevin
People don't like change and people don't like doing other dumb things that require, like they just, they don't want to have to work.
00:07:28 Kevin
Who wants to have to work, right?
00:07:29 Kevin
Like if you can just sit around all day and be sedentary, like most people are going to lean that way, right?
00:07:35 Kevin
And especially with their diets, eating tons of sugar and stuff like that, you become sedentary.
00:07:40 Kevin
So
00:07:41 Kevin
this was a nice like 7 1/2 minute rant in the vehicle.
00:07:45 Kevin
It was good seeing y'all and we will talk soon.
00:07:47 Kevin
Hopefully we have more of these great, great conversations.
