00:00:07 Kevin
Hey gang, Kevin here, Life 22, and it is July.
00:00:11 Kevin
It is July 1st today.
00:00:13 Kevin
I know all of you are super excited.
00:00:16 Kevin
If you're in my town, you can't go to Walmart today.
00:00:18 Kevin
You know, it's one of those things.
00:00:20 Kevin
And actually, it's funny that I bring that up because I was talking to somebody.
00:00:22 Kevin
They had to go pick up a loved one at the local Walmart today because the loved one is older.
00:00:27 Kevin
And she was like, I can't believe she went today because it's the first of the month and blah, blah, blah.
00:00:32 Kevin
And like, we never go on the 1st of the month because you know,
00:00:36 Kevin
and it's funny that I'm bringing this up because do you know what today is besides just the 1st of July?
00:00:41 Kevin
It is the beginning of our life theme.
00:00:44 Kevin
Our life theme for the month is job lie, right?
00:00:50 Kevin
And it's every month we have a new theme.
00:00:52 Kevin
If you're new to the channel,
00:00:55 Kevin
If you're new to the channel, you're like, what is this life theme thing?
00:00:59 Kevin
We pick a new life theme every month.
00:01:01 Kevin
It is part of Life 22 Studios.
00:01:03 Kevin
We do a life theme and it works on making you a better person.
00:01:07 Kevin
You're going to sit there and you're going to be like, okay, I need, you know, I need to work on me, right?
00:01:12 Kevin
And it's supposed to be, it's for self-betterment.
00:01:16 Kevin
And what better way than to get a job, maybe leave a job,
00:01:25 Kevin
and then get a new job.
00:01:31 Kevin
Work harder at the job that you have.
00:01:33 Kevin
Make corrections to your job.
00:01:34 Kevin
Make yourself better at the job that you have.
00:01:37 Kevin
Why would you, and this is what we do a lot of the times too, and this is the purpose of those life themes, right?
00:01:42 Kevin
It's to make you a better person.
00:01:44 Kevin
And the best person to help you be a better person is you, right?
00:01:48 Kevin
Like every problem you're going to have in the world is usually caused by you.
00:01:54 Kevin
Instead of looking outwardly first, look inwardly first, right?
00:01:57 Kevin
And these are the different things.
00:01:58 Kevin
And one of those could be maybe I'm having a really ****** time at work because of my outlook, because of the way that I'm looking at the world, because of what I am doing.
00:02:06 Kevin
Focus on you first.
00:02:08 Kevin
And then once you've ruled out every problem that you have or you could have, and maybe they're things that you can't see, so you won't know about them for a while, but then you can start to wander outside of yourself and look at the problems that
00:02:23 Kevin
you may be causing for other people.
00:02:26 Kevin
So there is that.
00:02:28 Kevin
But this month's, last month's theme, right, we're going to get into that real quick.
00:02:33 Kevin
Last month's theme was June Bloom, and it was all about working on our mental health.
00:02:38 Kevin
And it was a big build up from doing and helping to create us and bloom into the June season, into the beautiful season, until you get to July.
00:02:51 Kevin
Where it's deathly hot.
00:02:52 Kevin
It is deathly hot here in Western New York.
00:02:54 Kevin
It is like, I want to say in my office, I haven't hooked up air conditioning yet because like my boilers kicked on like a month ago and I was like, it's not even close yet, blah, blah, blah.
00:03:04 Kevin
It's been a really cold season.
00:03:05 Kevin
It is 93 degrees according to the thermometer in my office right now because I haven't hooked up the air conditioning.
00:03:10 Kevin
And it's also the sunroom.
00:03:11 Kevin
And so it's like, my God, I'm dying.
00:03:14 Kevin
So yeah, if you're like, Kevin's really sweaty in this video, like it's not because I picked up a heroin habit and I'm running low on supply.
00:03:20 Kevin
Like it's no, it's just freaking hot.
00:03:25 Kevin
That's why my face is red.
00:03:27 Kevin
I've been outside quite a bit today.
00:03:28 Kevin
I had to move bales of insulation.
00:03:30 Kevin
So those are probably in my pores still, making my face red and more irritated than it already is.
00:03:36 Kevin
And I would do for a shape.
00:03:37 Kevin
So I look like a homeless veteran.
00:03:39 Kevin
So which would also lead you to think that maybe, Kevin is shooting heroin.
00:03:44 Kevin
Like, you know, maybe.
00:03:46 Kevin
But I'm not.
00:03:47 Kevin
So, which is not good for your mental health either.
00:03:49 Kevin
It's not good.
00:03:50 Kevin
It's not good for you to be dependent on something else, right?
00:03:55 Kevin
So that was the June bloom, and then we're getting into the job lie.
00:03:59 Kevin
So what better way for you to work on yourself is to focus on your sense of what you toil at every day.
00:04:07 Kevin
Everybody has a toil, right?
00:04:09 Kevin
You have to toil, otherwise you're not going to find a lot of meaning in life.
00:04:13 Kevin
If your toil is being a stay-at-home mom, then be a stay-at-home mom.
00:04:17 Kevin
Be the best stay-at-home mom that you can be, right?
00:04:19 Kevin
Some people always think that, well, I have a job and blah, blah, blah, and job is different than being a homemaker or being a, you know, a mother or a father and blah, blah, blah.
00:04:26 Kevin
Like, no, they're all jobs.
00:04:28 Kevin
Some.
00:04:29 Kevin
provide you with monetary support, and some are necessary for being a functioning member of society.
00:04:37 Kevin
So like, husband goes out to work, just using some stereotypical rules here, right?
00:04:42 Kevin
Husband goes out to work, mom stays home, takes care of the kids.
00:04:46 Kevin
Both are very important jobs.
00:04:47 Kevin
One, provides money to come into the household to provide the food that then could get cooked and feed the children.
00:04:57 Kevin
yada, yada.
00:04:58 Kevin
So both are very, both are jobs, just, and obviously everybody's job is crucial to a degree, right?
00:05:05 Kevin
Like, and then sometimes you have to switch jobs, you have to rotate your jobs, you have to do what's financially best for your family.
00:05:11 Kevin
Sometimes, a spouse loses a job and the other spouse who wasn't working now has to go to work and pick up extra shifts.
00:05:18 Kevin
And then that spouse finds a job.
00:05:20 Kevin
And then just to make up for ends,
00:05:22 Kevin
not meeting, that person might also have to pick up a second job.
00:05:26 Kevin
Like, sometimes **** happens, right?
00:05:27 Kevin
But it's not on other people.
00:05:29 Kevin
It's on you, and you need to bear the brunt and the burden of those different types of things in society.
00:05:36 Kevin
Those are what you've got.
00:05:40 Kevin
Like, that's what the life theme is about, baby.
00:05:43 Kevin
It's about you taking some self-accountability, but part of self-accountability, right?
00:05:48 Kevin
Like, if you're like, hey, my house needs painted,
00:05:51 Kevin
I should paint it, right?
00:05:52 Kevin
Like no one else is going to paint your house for them, for you, right?
00:05:56 Kevin
Like that's like somebody might pay somebody to paint a house, but it's never going to be to the standard that you want your house to be painted, if that makes sense.
00:06:07 Kevin
Not typically, right?
00:06:08 Kevin
So that's very, and it's very true of yourself, right?
00:06:12 Kevin
You can pay doctors and all these people all the time to fix your problems for you,
00:06:17 Kevin
But the number one person that's going to, it's going to be level grease on your part and it's going to be a way better job is if you paint you, right?
00:06:26 Kevin
Like if you work on you and your problems.
00:06:29 Kevin
So part of the joys of life are your toil, right?
00:06:34 Kevin
If you have a job that you don't like, then maybe you shouldn't do it.
00:06:38 Kevin
If you have people that you don't like at work, maybe you should make a correction internally so that those people are more tolerable.
00:06:43 Kevin
Maybe it's you.
00:06:46 Kevin
Maybe, it's you.
00:06:48 Kevin
And so there's a bunch of different things that we're working on here today.
00:06:51 Kevin
There's, I can't, I can't, I can broad, this is going to be a broad brush here, guys.
00:06:55 Kevin
I'm going to be painting this with a broad brush.
00:06:57 Kevin
This is going to be you working on you, but also understanding that you're going to have some issues with some people at work, and maybe it is you.
00:07:08 Kevin
And maybe it's not you.
00:07:09 Kevin
Maybe it's not you, and maybe you have to leave.
00:07:11 Kevin
right?
00:07:12 Kevin
And then you get a new job.
00:07:13 Kevin
You get a job that you enjoy with co-workers that you enjoy.
00:07:16 Kevin
Maybe it's something that you don't enjoy, but you enjoy the co-workers.
00:07:19 Kevin
Maybe it's something that you really love, you're passionate about, but it doesn't pay what you have to and you have to get a second job that you're maybe not as passionate about, but you get to do the thing that you like to do.
00:07:29 Kevin
And there's all of those.
00:07:30 Kevin
I like helping people.
00:07:31 Kevin
That's why I've
00:07:34 Kevin
been in the role that I have for the last decade.
00:07:38 Kevin
And I still get to do that on my own, which is kind of fitting because as of the end of last week, coming into Job Lie, I quit my job.
00:07:51 Kevin
I lost my job.
00:07:52 Kevin
So I am back.
00:07:55 Kevin
I'm working for myself now and I have a job.
00:08:00 Kevin
and I enjoy my job.
00:08:01 Kevin
I enjoy anything that I put effort into for the most part, I enjoy.
00:08:05 Kevin
I find joy in almost everything that I do, and I can't say the same for everybody.
00:08:10 Kevin
I can't say that everybody has that same capability, the same way that I'm actually, as of today, I am nine months sober.
00:08:18 Kevin
I'm 9 months sober.
00:08:20 Kevin
And as of today, it's the anniversary of me running the A1 rental and sales business for three years.
00:08:26 Kevin
Three years.
00:08:27 Kevin
We opened, we reopened those doors three years ago under my management and we're still kicking.
00:08:32 Kevin
So, but I'm 9 months sober.
00:08:35 Kevin
Not everybody has my willpower, right?
00:08:37 Kevin
Like some people can't just say, I'm just not drinking.
00:08:40 Kevin
Like I stopped drinking before I even had a problem.
00:08:43 Kevin
And you could say, well, a problem, well, whatever.
00:08:45 Kevin
We can get down to the minutia of it.
00:08:47 Kevin
But
00:08:49 Kevin
I didn't have a problem.
00:08:50 Kevin
I wasn't like, I mean, it was costing me financially.
00:08:54 Kevin
I could see trends in myself that I didn't like.
00:08:56 Kevin
I could see, opportunities slide through my fingers.
00:08:59 Kevin
I could see days slip away from hangovers.
00:09:04 Kevin
And I, you know, I chose to quit.
00:09:06 Kevin
And I just said, you know, I'm going to the sober October and I'm not coming out of it.
00:09:10 Kevin
And I've been sober ever since.
00:09:12 Kevin
So it's,
00:09:14 Kevin
And I'm enjoying it.
00:09:15 Kevin
I'm healthier now.
00:09:16 Kevin
My body is not, like I would be dead already if I lost the amount of water that I have just sitting in my office for this last however long.
00:09:26 Kevin
And I've drinking out of enough of these in the last four days because of this heat wave that I probably could poop out a plastic spoon.
00:09:32 Kevin
You know, that thing that you accumulate your whole life to find in microplastics to equivalate to?
00:09:37 Kevin
Is it a spork?
00:09:38 Kevin
Is it sporky?
00:09:39 Kevin
Anyways,
00:09:42 Kevin
don't forget guys, take your kids out.
00:09:44 Kevin
This is not a plug.
00:09:45 Kevin
Take your kids out to go watch Toy Story 17.
00:09:47 Kevin
Like, just trying to keep Randy Newman employed, boys and girls.
00:09:51 Kevin
Just trying to keep them.
00:09:52 Kevin
I think he's still alive.
00:09:55 Kevin
You know, he's got a friend in you.
00:09:58 Kevin
Just like me.
00:09:59 Kevin
I got a friend in you.
00:10:00 Kevin
I hope I do.
00:10:02 Kevin
But that's why we're here, the life theme.
00:10:05 Kevin
Instead of just, you know, it's not just to see Kevin sweat on camera, right?
00:10:09 Kevin
So,
00:10:11 Kevin
But get a job this month.
00:10:13 Kevin
There's a lot of jobs.
00:10:15 Kevin
We're hiring.
00:10:17 Kevin
Call the shop.
00:10:19 Kevin
We're always looking for people because there's not a lot of people that are willing to work.
00:10:24 Kevin
And so that's it too.
00:10:25 Kevin
Maybe you have a job.
00:10:26 Kevin
Maybe you've worked on you.
00:10:26 Kevin
And then you want to take a little free time out of your month and just say, you know what, I'm worked on me.
00:10:31 Kevin
I put in an hour this every week into me and I'm going to spend 2 hours every week like hounding the homeless to get a job.
00:10:40 Kevin
taking that guy that's in the welfare line and getting them to get a job.
00:10:44 Kevin
And maybe you're going to be serious about it, or maybe you're just going to make their life miserable.
00:10:48 Kevin
And there's nothing wrong with that.
00:10:51 Kevin
One of the biggest things, and I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and maybe I'll go into another long rant about it on a different day, but the...
00:10:58 Kevin
The idea that like the Doris Roberts, the Marie Barone attitude of the world has dissipated since the 1950s.
00:11:08 Kevin
And it is really quite sad that overarching grandmother that would, you know, like you didn't want to disappoint her and she would make you feel guilty for doing something
00:11:22 Kevin
that wasn't savory, right?
00:11:23 Kevin
Like if you didn't have a job, you were just guilted into getting another one because it, who, what are you, a bum?
00:11:29 Kevin
What are you, a bum?
00:11:29 Kevin
Like bums don't, you know, that's, that guilt in our society has gone away.
00:11:37 Kevin
And I guess my dog decided to stay in here in the hottest room in the house and just sit here and pant with me.
00:11:43 Kevin
Anyways, that guilt is gone in our society.
00:11:46 Kevin
And
00:11:47 Kevin
I'm encouraging you to bring it back.
00:11:49 Kevin
Like, feel free to bring it back.
00:11:51 Kevin
And I know that the suicidal ideation of the internet is going to tell you that's not nice.
00:11:57 Kevin
And guess what?
00:11:58 Kevin
Life isn't nice.
00:11:59 Kevin
Life isn't nice.
00:12:00 Kevin
Is it nice when people starve to death under the bridge?
00:12:02 Kevin
No.
00:12:02 Kevin
Maybe they should have got a job.
00:12:04 Kevin
Maybe they should have got a job and worked hard.
00:12:06 Kevin
Oh, but they had food stamps.
00:12:08 Kevin
That's not my job to provide them with food stamps.
00:12:09 Kevin
It's not the government's job to provide them with food stamps.
00:12:11 Kevin
It's not anybody's job to feed them but them.
00:12:18 Kevin
The world isn't fair.
00:12:19 Kevin
The world isn't fair.
00:12:20 Kevin
And so to all those, I'm speaking to the suicidal ideation people.
00:12:25 Kevin
And now I'm going to go back to speaking to the normal functioning adults who find amusement in guilt shaming people.
00:12:31 Kevin
So feel free to guilt the homeless into getting jobs.
00:12:36 Kevin
Drop off applications.
00:12:38 Kevin
If maybe there's a jerk at work that you want to mess with too.
00:12:40 Kevin
Maybe like you've done your self-reflection.
00:12:42 Kevin
You're like, I've tried everything with me.
00:12:44 Kevin
It's not me.
00:12:45 Kevin
It's them.
00:12:45 Kevin
I'm just going to give them like Tim Horton's application to go work at the Timmy Hos.
00:12:50 Kevin
Like I had a buddy as a manager who used to do that.
00:12:53 Kevin
Anytime people would gripe about their job being really crummy, he's like, well, here, try this one.
00:12:57 Kevin
And they would give him that.
00:12:57 Kevin
Or you'd give him a tampon.
00:12:59 Kevin
I mean, either one, like they're still very, very, that's how guys do things.
00:13:04 Kevin
Now, HR says you can't do crap like that.
00:13:06 Kevin
But
00:13:08 Kevin
What HR don't know.
00:13:10 Kevin
Anyways, we're always hiring.
00:13:12 Kevin
Thanks guys for watching.
00:13:14 Kevin
And I'm hoping to get more of these to you.
00:13:17 Kevin
More of these videos, more clips, more long form, but also more shorts because you won't need, you need all, just like these heroin sweats, you need Kevin on a daily basis.
00:13:28 Kevin
Otherwise you start to sweat too.
00:13:30 Kevin
Maybe that's what it is.
00:13:31 Kevin
Maybe it's not a heat wave.
00:13:32 Kevin
Maybe it's because I haven't given you enough content and you're going through withdrawals.
00:13:37 Kevin
Something to ponder.
00:13:38 Kevin
So with that said, guys, we'll see you next time on Life 22.
00:13:44 Kevin
Deuces.
