You ever wonder why people take shock-jock approaches to things, people take crazy positions that are very extreme? Hey guys, Kevin here at Life 22 and I told you we going break this up in multiple parts. Here's part two. It's probably going to part three that we actually get to the real meat and potatoes of the issue or at least the shock-jock value of it. But, for the most part, the biggest thing, and I think it's probably true of my humor and as well as the way that I try to get a point across. Sometimes I will take the issue that is like the most extreme and that's true of a lot of people, right? So if you're not pro -life and you're pro -choice, a lot of times people will use the rape and the incest argument, which is like, and I said the 1 % issues the other day, they literally like you take all the different things, the rape and the incest stuff, it's way less than 1%. I think it's like a 1 % of 1%. It's a really small number and people make it out to be the, they make a giant strongman, they make a huge argument out of that. Well, you know, the rape and incest people, blah, blah, blah, and they make this extreme approach and we need to have like one thing that defines everything based on that very small percentage to define the rule. And we do the same thing too, right? so, but when something terrible happens, we, we do something, right? Like, well, I'm going to use Christianity for example, right? So Jesus is nailed to a cross, right? He's crucified. And so what do people do to remember him, right? And this is, this is another point. This isn't the same point as what we just talking about, but it's in a similar line, like we take an extreme approach, right? So to remember the life of Jesus and what he did for you, you, you wear, you wear, you wear a crucifix around your neck, right? Or you, you have it on your jewelry or you have it, you know, tattooed on your arm or your shoulder, your peck, your bicep, your, you know, whatever it is, You have a man that is nailed to a cross. You just have him like bloodily nailed and depending on the crucifix you get, it's, you know, it can be very graphic and he is nailed to a cross and we use that to remember the sacrifice, you know, the devotion, the, you know, the things that he did for you, the, the absolution of the sin, everything that that stands for you put into probably one of the most egregious symbols of his life. So, while symbols might not be in shock-jock, comedy, humor, all those different things, they might not be the exact perfect thing to say, the most polite thing to do, but that taking that most extreme thing that you are doing and making it the symbol or whatever it is of your cause drives the point home better than if you were to take the average example.
